Facilities Maintenance Technician

Department: 800 - Maintenance - Plant Engineering
Location: White, GA

TNA is currently looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician.  Our vision for this position is as follows.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure fire safety and environmental compliance by monitoring fire safety and environmental equipment, identify potential issues and take appropriate steps to suspend operations and resolve the problem prior to a fire safety or environmental event.

Perform equipment rounds, maintain logs, and complete minor maintenance for all Utilities equipment.

Turn valves and adjust boiler and auxiliary equipment controls to set specified flows, levels, pressures, and temperatures. Observe boiler and auxiliary equipment responses to control changes.

Troubleshoot boilers and auxiliary equipment to ensure proper performance and identify discrepancies.

Test and treat boiler feedwater with specified chemicals within specified guidelines.

Maintain systems by performing regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally; identify and repair or replace malfunctioning components.

Perform additional duties as requested by Utilities Crew Leader or Utilities Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience 

 High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Two (2) year associate degree in Maintenance Technologies and 1-3 years of practical experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to discuss specific examples of work experience prioritizing multiple tasks with limited resources while working with partial information in a stressful work environment.

 

Classes, license and certifications required once in position: LOTO, forklift license, scissor lift license, FM Global Hot Work Permit System, and Red-Tag System.

 

Typical length of training to perform normal daily tasks is 4-6 months.

Typical length of training to perform advanced less frequent tasks is 12 months.
